A sandwich is a dish of various ingredients that come together to create a new taste.
The next step was to think about what ingredients would be best. I thought about what ingredients I could use for the sandwich: fresh eggs before they became living things, or ham made from the aged body parts of living things.
The meat used in the ham might have once been an egg of some kind.
The meat used for the ham may have once been an egg of some kind, and the soup with lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes would be even better.

I'm a meerkat, the godfather of Hamutama.
The inspiration for this event came when the inaugural members, Meerkat and Yutaka Murakami, met at a cherry blossom viewing party in a park in Okachimachi in March 2021. This was the start of the project.
Murakami asked me if I would like to work with him on some kind of live media, and I started to do conceptual performance in earnest. Up to that point, I had only briefly dabbled in performance as an elective in college, and had mainly been working with paintings.
Although Murakami and I are 16 years apart in age, he doesn't let me feel it at all, and he supports meerkat activities with enthusiasm through the common theme of art.
Working people and students, seniors and juniors, professionals and amateurs, artists and office workers, foreigners and Japanese, men and women, adults and children.
It seems that there are many divides and separations in the world, but sometimes it is good to remove them.
If there is a common theme, various artists and non-artists can work together to create one big movement...
This Hamutama is a platform focusing on performance art, but I would like to post a lot of information about other things as well. (It's very easy to say "platform", because it can be vague in many ways.)
One of the things I'm trying to do is to include a conversation with all the performers at each event, and to create a page for each artist.
From artists with a lot of experience performing at events to students who are doing live media for the first time, they will all be archived on the same website in the same format.
I didn't include the word "performance" in the title because I didn't want to draw a boundary between genres.
The overlapping ingredients in the cross section of the sandwich look like the timetable of an event.
Eggs may still be a student with little experience in presenting his work. The ham may be a professional who has been working in the field for many years.
But an egg and a ham are not enough for a sandwich, so we need a good stage, an audience, and you, the reader of this page, to make it happen.
It is my hope that this platform will become a new movement that we have never seen before through the interaction of various people across the various boundaries of the world, from art enthusiasts to beginners who have recently become interested in art and performance.
